Let's Connect

Talk to me. Laugh with me. Create with me.

Around our apartment it’s officially Mule Monday!  Hey, why not?  We’ll certainly take any excuse to enjoy one of our favorite cocktails, and Mondays definitely need something to get excited about!

We came up with the idea of Mule Monday last fall during a season of The Bachelor.  Not only did Marc choose to spend the rest of his life with me, but that also means he chose to take on my trashy TV shows for the rest of his life.  As we settled in each Monday night to let the judgements begin we realized this show really needs to be watched with alcohol. That’s when we began making Moscow Mules every time we watched The Bachelor.

The only problem was that The Bachelor doesn’t run all year long (actually that’s a really good thing…).  In order to keep our tradition going Mule Monday was born.

As cocktails go, this one is pretty darn easy.  It doesn’t require many ingredients and you can make it in just a couple of minutes.  There are many different versions of Mules, but we like to keep it simple.

INGREDIENTS (makes 2)

2 Copper Mugs

Ice

2 shots vodka

Lime

12 oz. bottle of Ginger Beer

DIRECTIONS

~Fill copper mugs about halfway with ice.

~Add one shot of Vodka to each mug. We prefer Grey Goose, but it’s entirely up to you.  If Marc is making the drinks he will add one and a half shots to each mug.

~Squeeze half a lime into each mug.

~Top with Ginger Beer. After trying many different brands, we prefer Bundaberg.  I’m not the biggest ginger fan, and Bundaberg has just the right amount of tanginess and blends well in the cocktail.

~Stir well and serve immediately. Garnish with a slice of lime and/or mint leaves to make it more festive.

Happy Mule Monday!

Hi Bridget, I hope all is well! I'm a friend of Jenny Goodman's and she suggested reaching out to invite you to an event I'm planning in a couple weeks. Jenny is actually on the panel and we're so excited to have her! I'm getting set to launch my new business and website and we're throwing a party to celebrate. I hope you are able to attend! The party is Wednesday, July 10that Little Owl the Townhouse (55 Grove St.) from 6:00-9:00. The Life Actually Company™ is all about empowering, supporting, and inspiring women to feel good about themselves, on the inside and out, exactly where they are in their lives right now. All too often we feel societal pressures to get married by a certain age, have kids, or land the dream job, and that pressure makes us question who we are and what we have accomplished so far. Basically, TLAC wants to encourage women to own their personal and unique timelines. There’s the life you thought you would have, and then there’s your life, actually. It’s the “actually” that holds all the power and possibility, if we choose to embrace it. This launch event won’t just be any old party! We’re bringing in some of our favorite female-founded brands to share their products and stories as they mingle with guests. We will also have a panel of some amazing women (CeCe Olisa, Aly Teich, Ivanka Dekoning, Lauren Glassberg, and Jenny Goodman) who are all owning their unique timelines and will share their experiences. Let’s be honest, it isn’t always easy to find happiness in your own path, that’s why it’s so important to share our stories with each other. All of the info is below. I hope you are able to make it!Please RSVP by July 7th to hello@thelifeactuallycompany.com. You must RSVP to attend. Thanks so much and I hope to see you there! Best, Laura TLAC_Invite.pdf
